Marguerite Rucker is a 30-year teacher who has taught every grade from kindergarten to sixth grade in San Diego and Murrieta schools. Her passion is teaching and learning from and with the students. She has been Teacher of the Year and recently received the Superintendent's Circle of Excellence award. Marguerite has a master's degree in educational leadership and works with her school district as the African-American Parent Advisory Co-Lead. Her work with the African American Parent Advisory Council along with teaching has been the most rewarding part of her career. She cares deeply about the growth and progress of all students and believes in building strong relationships with her families. She enjoys supporting the arts and extracurricular activities of her school while working with her PTA, leadership, and school site council. Marguerite is married to her husband, a school psychologist, and has two adult children.
